Mobile Doodle & Poodle Grooming in Central Florida
Western Grooming grooms Doodles and Poodles at your home in Orlando, Kissimmee, Davenport and nearby Central Florida cities. Full grooms start at $120 for small Doodles and go up to $250 for giants, done one-on-one in our van. We recommend a groom every 2 weeks for a coat in top shape, and no longer than every 4–6 weeks. Members get the 13th groom free.
Why Doodle coats need their own grooming
Doodles and Poodles have curly coats that shed very little. That is exactly why many owners love them, but it comes with a catch: loose hair does not fall out. It gets trapped in the curls and, if it is not brushed out and trimmed in time, it turns into mats close to the skin.
In Central Florida that happens faster. Humidity, afternoon rain, the pool and puddles keep the coat damp for longer, and damp curls tangle much more easily. That is why a Doodle needs grooming built for its coat: more brushing, a complete dry and scissor work.
How often to groom a Doodle in Florida
We recommend a groom every 2 weeks: it keeps the coat in top condition and the style looking sharp. At most, every 4–6 weeks; wait longer and mats are very likely to form.
That is what our memberships are for. Trail Boss (every 2 weeks, up to 15% off) is the ideal plan for a Doodle; Wrangler (every 4 weeks, up to 8% off) is the recommended minimum. With both, you pay for 12 grooms and the 13th is free.

Matted Doodle?
We always check the coat before we start and tell you what we see. Light tangles are worked out during the groom. If the matting is severe, there may be an extra charge, or a shave-down may be the kindest option for your dog: forcing a brush through a heavily matted coat is uncomfortable for them.
After a shave-down the coat grows back, and with regular visits it is easy to keep it mat-free.
Brushing your Doodle between visits
- Brush in sections: lift the hair with one hand and brush all the way down to the skin, not just the top layer.
- Follow the brush with a metal comb. If the comb catches, a mat is starting there.
- Focus on the spots that tangle most: behind the ears, armpits, legs, the collar or harness area and the tail.
- Dry the coat fully after rain, the pool or a bath at home; curls that stay damp tangle fast.
- If you find a large mat, do not cut it with scissors near the skin: leave it to your groomer.
